Source text - English Adequate infrastructure systems are critical to mission accomplishment. Infrastructure includes water, wastewater, electrical, stormwater management, fules, and communications systems. A visual assessment of the infrastructure systems was conducted during site visits to New Al Muthana Air Base in March 2009 and September 2010. Base operators were interviewed and data regarding the capacity and condition of the Base infrastructure systems were collected and analyzed.
It is projected that Sather Air Base will become part of New Al Muthana Air Base. The southern portion of Sather Air Base will be made available to the Iraqi Air Force by the end of 2011. Transition of the northern portion of Sather Air Base will occur after coordination with the United States Department of State. This chapter recognizes known information about those adjacent areas, but the data may be incomplete. Recommendations for the endstate are made, and figures are included to show the existing and future systems.
