English to Polish: glass industry
General field: Tech/Engineering
Source text - English
These furnace types are suitable for the production of glass in bulk and therefore they are very important for the majority of the glass industry. All container glass, flat glass, lighting bulb glass, fiber glass, TV-glass products and most of the table-ware glass is being melted in these types of furnaces. The furnace designs are derived originally from the steel industry. In the late nineteenth century, the so called Siemens-Martin furnace was applied for the first time to melt glass. Since then, this furnace design has been adapted more and more to the specific requirements of the glass melting process.

Piece tego rodzaju są odpowiednie do masowej produkcji szkła, dlatego mają duŜe znaczenie w większości gałęzi przemysłu szklarskiego. Wszystkie rodzaje szkła opakowaniowego, szkła płaskiego, szkła oświetleniowego, włókien szklanych, szkła stosowanego w produkcji odbiorników telewizyjnych i większość szkła gospodarczego wytapia się w takich właśnie piecach. Konstrukcja pieca o ruchu ciągłym wywodzi się z przemysłu metalurgicznego. Pod koniec XIX wieku po raz pierwszy do topienia szkła zastosowano piec martenowski. od tego czasu dostosowywano ten rodzaj pieca coraz bardziej do specyficznych wymogów procesu topienia szkła.
