The year on the Peninsula begins with the new buds of spring. It then steps into life with the vitality of summer, ripens with age during fall, and rests and recovers under layers of white snow during winter. These colorful changes are brought about by its geography, as the Peninsula is surrounded by seas on its three sides with almost 60% of the land covered by rugged mountains. On the Korean Peninsula, people developed a culture and lifestyle that were closely interconnected with nature. This chapter provides an overview of diverse aspects of Korean society, including its relationship to nature and its culture and time-honored traditions.

Półwysep Koreański charakteryzuje się czterema różnymi porami roku, a każda z nich może się pochwalić własnymi urokami. W całej długiej historii kraju naród koreański przez cały rok znajdował sposoby na korzystanie z natury w całej jej różnorodności i zmieniających się formach. Rok na półwyspie zaczyna się od nowych wiosennych pąków. Następnie wkracza w życie z witalnością lata, dojrzewa z wiekiem podczas jesieni, a zimą odpoczywa i nabiera sił pod warstwami białego śniegu. Te barwne zmiany wynikają z geografii Półwyspu, który z trzech stron jest otoczony morzami, a prawie 60% jego powierzchni pokrywają nierówne góry. Członkowie zarządu ITMAGINATION podzielili się z Mirosławem Konkelem z Pulsu Biznesu historią o tym, jak powstał pomysł na firmę, na jakich wartościach jest budowana, jak rozumieją jej misję oraz tym, jak wygląda codzienne życie w „domu innowatorów”.
Rok 2008 wydawał się najgorszym momentem na start.
Daniel Arak, Dawid Łaziński i Łukasz Kieloch widzieli to inaczej:

Ta idea legła u podstaw ITMAGINATION – software’owego biznesu, o którym zaczęli rozmawiać jeszcze jako studenci Polsko-Japońskiej Akademii Technik Komputerowych.
Wiedzieli, że ich firma musi szybko pozyskać zlecenia, inaczej się nie uda.
Pierwszym klientem okazał się chemiczny gigant zza zachodniej granicy – Bayer.
Szukał elastycznego partnera, który stworzy mu system business intelligence usprawniający procesy logistyczne i sprzedażowe.
– Farmacja, automotive, finanse… Od początku działamy w wielu różnych branżach, przede wszystkim zaś za granicą.
Dywersyfikacja pozwoliła nam przetrwać pierwsze trudne miesiące, a później wypłynąć na szersze wody – nie ukrywa zadowolenia Dawid Łaziński.
Pomogła też strategia maksymalnej koncentracji na codzienności, potrzebach i problemach klienta.
Odzwierciedla ją nazwa firmy pochodząca od angielskiego słowa „imagination”, oznaczającego wyobraźnię.

Today, ITMAGINATION employs 450 specialists and serves the largest banks, automotive and pharmaceutical corporations from all over the world.
Board members of ITMAGINATION told Puls Biznesu’s Mirosław Konkel the story of how the idea for the company developed, what values it is built on, how they understand its mission and what everyday life looks like at the ‘house of innovators’.

In crisis, companies have to tighten their belts, and we are going to help them do it.
That idea lay at the heart of ITMAGINATION: a software business they started talking about as students of the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology.
They knew their company had to get orders quickly or the venture was not going to work out.
The first customer happened to be the chemical giant from across the western border: Bayer.
Bayer was looking for a flexible partner ready to develop a business intelligence system to streamline their logistics and sales processes.
‘Pharmaceutics, automotive, finance... From the start, we have been operating in many different industries, and especially abroad’.
‘It was diversification that allowed us to survive the first difficult months and, later, to take the plunge’, says a clearly satisfied Dawid Łazinski.
‘The strategy of maximum focus on everyday life, customer needs and problems also helped.’
It is reflected by the company name derived from the word ‘imagination’.
