En España "bakalavr" con 4 años de estudios sería un diplomado (suelen ser 3 ó 4 años) y un "spetsialist" con 5 años es un licenciado en toda regla. Para un "maguistr" se podría decir licenciado con un programa de máster en tal y cual campo.
