froze the database Explanation: "freeze" came to my mind. It means, that the database is still up and running, but it doesn't allow for further input, modification or rollback. Usually users can still read (query) it. The purposes of doing so vary, from backup to taking a snapshot for analyses/stats, etc. Does it go well with the rest of the sentence? |
