Italian term
corona cremagliera
Italian to English
Tech/Engineering
Manufacturing
I'm working my way through a description of a packaging machine and its associated elements and parts. One part that appears in a list of 'meccanismi' is a *corona cremagliera*. Here is an example sentence from a different source: "Il moto viene poi trasmesso ad una *corona cremagliera*" Cos'e' questa corona? Grazie.

RACK GEAR
I translate from English into Italian automotive literature and I can tell you that the Corona is translated with "gear".

Thank you very much Joseph! If I think about it again, I would confirm my translation. I hope I am not wrong twice! Ciao!

Comment: "Well, I'm a little late grading this, but I think this is the correct answer, or at least the closest. I still don't know if the text deals with a 'rack-and-pinion' arrangement, or just this rack gear ... so I'll give the credit here. Thank you Silvia!"

Rim rack
Not sure at all. Needs confirmation by experts.

sprocked crown / toothed crown
That is a toothed wheel (with the specificity that the teeth are axle-oriented not centripete-wise, that is a crown) in contact with a straight tooth bar, thus converting a circular movement into a linear one.
Just guessing though
