"In trauter Zweisamkeit schnorchelte das ungleiche Paar Eia popeia."

This is from a children's story about a little monkey trying to wake his friends up on his birthday, without success.
It's from Prague, so has a lot of Austrian vocabulary.

Explanation:
I think that it could mean - they're together here as alike as two peas in a pod - even though they are so different. This would go well with one of the meanings of "eia popeia" = everything's okay, hunky dory, (maybe also "goodie two shoes"), etc.
