The Concert of Europe after 1815


Explanation:
Overview
The Concert of Europe was formulated in 1815 as a mechanism to enforce the decisions of the Congress of Vienna. Composed of the Quadruple Alliance: Russia, Prussia, Austria, and Great Britain, its main priorities were to establish a balance of power, thereby preserving the territorial status quo, and to protect "legitimate" governments. Headed by Prince Metternich of Austria, the Concert of Europe was one of the first serious attempts in modern times to establish an international society to maintain the peace. This made it a significant event in world history, even though it only lasted for a few decades.

Actually, it appears \"The Concert of Europe\" refers to a treaty entered into in 1815. The term \"balance of powers\" refers to the concept or state of political equilibrium among the European powers in the period thereafter.\\
Entering \"balance of powers\" and 1815 into Google yields numerous relevant hits.

As far as I know, the \"Entente Cordiale\" refers to a different treaty, see:

PS forgot to mention where I personally learned about the \"balance of powers\" concept relating to that period in history was in a college-level political science course on International Politics, though my degree is not in that field, and I am far from an expert. Good luck!
