Botany / gardens

Is this the name of a place, perhaps? I can't find it anywhere. The text is describing a garden in the outskirts of Marrakech in Morocco.

Thanks to all - how stupid of me - it's rot-Ton! Of course. The lack of sleep is finally getting to me:-( I imagine it could be shade of red or red clay - the latter would also fit this context. Anyway, thank you all for your help. Sheila

(shade of) red

Explanation:
Rotton simply means it is a type of red, in this case the walls are in a shade of red which is typical for the area - the formation of the word is analogous of "Farbton" (hue, tint etc.)
Hope this helps, best of luck!
