The prostate is located just below the bladder and above the sphincter. Next to it and behind it, against the prostate capsule, there are many nerve fibres: this constitutes the nervous system for the prostate and the cavernous bodies of the penis.
It is important to know that the prostate is covered in nerve fibres. They go right into the prostate and also into the cavernous bodies of the penis. It is these nerves that cause an erection.
