That was my choice. Although it is not accurate, but is more natural. And the Abu Bakr trust defines itself as a charity, any way, which is typically translated into Arabic as مؤسسة خيرية

disagree  Mohsin Alabdali: Trust is not a translation for "al-siddique" but a description of a legal entity that is recognized in common law and was also recognized in Islamic fiqh but was disused until recently.

disagree  Mohsin Alabdali: A trust is not a credit company but a distinct legal entity llike "waqf" but is more flexible. In Islam this was called "rusd" but was disused until recently.

disagree  Mohsin Alabdali: A trust can be a foundation but not necessarily so. Indeed most foundations are financed by trusts.

abu bakr trust
رصد أبوبكر

Explanation:
Trust is a more flexible form of endowment. Recently (about six years ago) some scholars of Islamic fiqh and economics agreed in a symposium held in Jeddah that the Arabic equivalent of "Trust" is "Rusd" (رصد). The rusd had been an important source of financing research and other activities in Islamic history but gradually died out. Now it is being revived in Malaysia and Saudi Arabia.

In short, I would suggest adopting the Arabic word رصد to translate "trust" in the context of an entity. Thus Abu Bakr Trust can be translated رصد أبو بكر. The nearest alternative translation is وقف أبوبكر.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks Mohsin for your input. I really appreciate all the info you provided. I used مؤسسة because it is an easy expression that suits the advestisement genre. Maybe Rusd is the most accurate term, but like you said, it is a dead term that is trying to live again in some countries. MY document is targeting Islamic community in the UK. I think they need a simple term.

Peer comments on this answer (and responses from the answerer)
neutral  Ali Al awadi: Hi Mohsin, actually I wouldnt go for "rusd" as it sounds odd and misleading. Being intellectually inclined to a word rather than others in a symposium is hardly enough for a word to be validated and approved. Please read my note above. Thanks a lot!
