This phrase is still from a religious text.It describes the place that our prophet bought to build the first mosque in Islam on.still i find diffeculty translating although i looked for it in some dictionaries.i would like to have it translated from Arabic into English.إبتاع المكان الذي كان مربدا للتمر:this is the context in which this phrase is .

neutral  Alaa Zeineldine: I do not believe that date is thrashed. Usually fresh dates are dried to produce tamr.

  -> As far as I understand dates are cut off with the brunches, then they are dried and afterwards separated from the brunches
