Italian term

contestandoli

Italian to English Bus/Financial Law (general)
This is referring to the events organisation in stadiums and other venues. I'm not quite sure what they mean by "contestandoli" - i.e. is it a fine or notification or something else?

"LE OPERAZIONI DI DISALLESTIMENTO VENGANO EFFETTUATE CON LA MASSIMA CURA NEI CONFRONTI DELL'IMPIANTO, SEGNALANDO TEMPESTIVAMENTE EVENTUALI DANNEGGIAMENTI AL PROPRIETARIO DELL'IMPIANTO E ***CONTESTANDOLI*** A CHI SE NE FOSSE RESO PROTAGONISTA."

Thanks for any thoughts!
