Source text - English INTRODUCTION
Some natural products have been shown to benefit the skin, especially for the restoration of
skin barrier. Dead Sea mud and water, balneotherapeutic water preparations, deep sea
sPonges/ milk, and pearl, for examples, have been used in ancient to modern formulations for
topical application to provide healthy ageless skin. Results were not always well documented,
but the effects have been observed and triggered many investigations. Among many components
within these materials, calcium is one notable ingredient in common.
Calcium is important for human body and involved in many life processes. For instance,
this element plays a crucial role in the growth, death, differentiation, and function of immune
cells. Calcium is also important in the regulation of skin barrier homeostasis, as calcium is
involved in the regeneration process of skin barrier components (1). The role of calcium in skin
is more complex than previously assumed. The elucidation of calcium regulation mechanism
in skin could be useful to understand and solve skin problems.

S-a demonstrat că unele produse naturale sunt benefice pentru piele, mai ales pentru refacerea barierei pielii. Mâlul şi apa de la marea moartă, preparatele din apă balneoterapeutică, bureţii din adâncurile mărilor, laptele şi perlele, de exemplu, au fost folosite în formule antice şi moderne de aplicare locală pentru o piele sănătoasă şi mereu tânără. Printre multe componente din aceste materiale, calciul este un ingredient comun.
Calciul este important pentru corpul uman fiind implicat în multe procese din organism. De exemplu, acest element joacă un rol important în creşterea, moartea, diferenţierea şi funcţionarea celulelor sistemului imunitar. Calciul este de asemenea important în regularea homeostazei barierei pielii, deoarece este implicat în procesul de regenerare a componentelor barierei pielii. Rolul calciului în piele este mult mai complex decât s-a crezut. Elucidarea mecanismului de regulare al calciului din piele este folositoare în înţelegerea şi rezolvarea problemelor pielii.

Source text - Romanian Deşi numele Demirbaş Şarl s-ar putea să nu spună nimic amatorului de istorie, dimpotrivă el trezeşte sentimente de glorie istoricului de profesie, care cunoaşte faptul că acesta este de fapt „porecla” căpătată de Carol al XII-lea , regele Suediei, odată cu şederea sa de 5 ani în Imperiul Otoman (1709-1714).
Acest nume, Demirbaş Şarl, vine de la pensia asigurată de Imperiul Otoman acestuia, în limba turcă demirbaş însemnând rentă fixă (tavin). Sultanul Ahmed al III-lea a fost deosebit de generos în tratamentul pe care l-a oferit războinicului rege Carol al XII-lea, aşa cum vom vedea, oferindu-i acestuia nu numai bani, dar chiar şi posibilitatea de a făuri o adevărată enclavă suedeză în Imperiul Otoman.
Subiectul este amplu tratat de istoricii români dar şi străini, fiind unul deosebit de interesant, prin faptul că juxtapune două culturi diferite (cea a Europei Nordice şi cea a Orientului), poate comparabil cu istoria gărzilor imperiale bizantine alcătuite din varegi/vikingi (x,) din secolele IX-X.
Faima regelui Carol al XII-lea se datorează mai ales faptului că acesta a fost ultimul rege absolutist al Suediei dar şi faptului că a fost implicat în Războaiele Nordice. Tocmai aceste Războaie Nordice vor constitui cauza pentru care Carol XII se va vedea nevoit să se refugieze în Imperiul Otoman.
După cum se ştie, conflictele s-au declanşat în anul 1700 când regele Carol al XII-lea a trebuit să se opună Ţarului Petru cel Mare al Rusiei, lui Frederic al IV-lea al Danemarcei şi lui August (II) cel Puternic al Saxoniei . Dacă Danemarca şi Saxonia constituiau probleme relativ minore, puterea Suediei ca fi încercată cel mai mult în timpul confruntării cu Petru cel Mare.
Cea mai grea încercare a fost binecunoscuta luptă de la Poltava de pe 27 iunie 1709, când cei 30.000 de suedezi ai lui Carol al XII-lea au fost înfrânţi de armata aproape de două mai numeroasă a lui Petru cel Mare . Câteva mii de prizonieri au fost luaţi atunci din rândurile armatei în retragere, iar Carol XII şi aliatul său , Mazepa , au reuşit să se salveze trecând graniţa în Imperiul Otoman şi ajungând la Bender (Tighina) împreună cu aproximativ 1.500 de oameni.
S-au întâmpinat anumite dificultăţi la trecerea răului Bug, respectiv a fost nevoie ca alaiul regal să cumpere provizii la preţuri exorbitante de la Paşa din Oceakov. Bărcile primite au fost atât de neîncăpătoare încât traversarea întregului grup de suedezi peste râul Bug, în Imperiul Otoman, a durat mai mult de trei zile. Acest lucru a permis avangardei cavaleriei ruse să ajungă din urmă pe suedezi, mai multe sute dintre aceştia căzând prizonieri sau înecându-se.
Translation - English Although the name Demirbaş Şarl might not mean a lot to a history amateur, it is not the case of a professional, who knows the fact that it hides the “nickname” acquired by Charles XII, the King of Sweden, during his 5 years long stay in the Ottoman Empire (1709-1714).
This name, Demirbaş Şarl, derives from the allocation awarded to him by the Ottoman Empire, as in Turkish demirbaş means “fixed rent”. Sultan Ahmed III was very generous in his treatment to the Warrior King Charles XII, as we will see, offering him not only money but even the required means for founding a real Swedish enclave in the Ottoman Empire.
The subject is widely treated by Romanian but also by foreign scholars, being especially interesting, because it beings together two different cultures (the one of Early Modern Northern Europe and an Oriental civilization on the other hand), in an episode which is maybe comparable to the history of the Byzantine imperial guards, which were made up of Varangians/Vikings (Væringjar; Greek: Βάραγγοι, Βαριάγοι) during the IX-X centuries.
King Charles XII’s fame also derives from the fact that he was the last absolute king of Sweden and that he participated in the Great Northern War. This very war will be the cause of Charles XII’s retreat in the Ottoman Empire.
As it is well known, the conflict began in 1700 when King Charles XII was opposed to Czar Peter the Great of Russia, Frederick IV of Denmark and Augustus II of Saxony . While Denmark and Saxony were not a big concern for Sweden, this was not at all the case of Peter the Great’s Russia.
The greatest trial was the well-known battle of Poltava of 27 June 1709, when the 30.000 Swedes of Charles XII were defeated by the almost double in size army of Peter the Great . Several thousands prisoners were then taken by the Russians, while Charles XII and his ally , Mazepa , managed to save themselves by passing the borders into the Ottoman Empire and arriving in Bender (Tighina) together with approximately 1.500 troops.
Certain difficulties arrived at the crossing of the Bug river, and the royal convoy had to resort to buying extraordinarily expensive, but extremely necessary nonetheless, supplies from the Ochakiv Pasha. The boats they received from the local authorities were so small that the crossing of the Bug took 3 days. This fact allowed the avant-garde of the Russian cavalry to reach the Swedes from behind, many of the falling prisoners or drowning in the struggle.
