I have lived in Brazil for almost 40 years, 24 of them in banking. After leaving the banking industry, I worked as a freelance translator and teacher of Business English, later joining a major Brazilian LSP, where I acquired considerable experience in localization and internationalization. After two years there, I left to become a freelancer, working from a home office, translating from Brazilian Portuguese to English, my principal fields of expertise being finance, banking, economics, audit and sustainability.
My 40 years in Brazil give me a unique knowledge of the language, culture, society and politics, and in 2012 I completed a certification course as a conference interpreter. In this field, I work mainly in finance, banking and sustainability.
I am also ATA certified for Portuguese to English.
