Translation - English A Compassionate Prince Defends a Lowly Salt Peddler
Chapter I
A Tongcheng City Decree Brings Dishonest Merchants to Justice
The sweltering midsummer heat in the forty-fourth year of Kangxi’s reign had become insufferable. A dozen or so days of scorching noontime heat elapsed since the sixth day of the sixth lunar month, turning the entire Anhui province into a searing hot crucible. Mornings would pass, and regardless of whether one had rested in the shade of a tree, or reclined unclad in the threshold of a city gate, one would bead all over in sweat —let alone those who ventured out into the open. Outside the western gate of Tongcheng stooped a willow by the bank of a small stream, where a reed-woven shack laid within close reach of a thoroughfare and the city. To the north of this stream behind the shack grew a large plot of watermelons in the sandy soil. Passers-by, peddlers, porters, and even idle townsfolk escaping the heat gathered here, stripped to the waist, to strike up conversation and eat melons to cool down. Some lay over smooth slabs of stone, heads cushioned by straw hats with their queues coiled. Thunder-like snores came from those who were spread out, and their bodies became doused in sweat as they slept.
Translation - English Medium-density fiberboard (or MDF for short) is created through the use of wood or other soft plant fibers as raw material, where urea
formaldehyde or other synthetic resins are applied under conditions of high heat and pressure, forming panels between 450 to 880kg/m³ in density. Its key traits are moderate density; a hard and level surface
that is glossy and smooth in appearance, large surface dimension; an internal structure consistent in distribution, and excellent in
physical strength. Complex machine-processing can be carried out on both surface and sides. Its smooth stable surface acts as a good substrate for paint and varnishes; wood veneering or surface gluing; silk-screening; and machine PVC film heat lamination. The even and dense sides allow its performance in machine-finishing to greatly surpass those of other synthetic boards. Saw cutting, and use of other cast-iron tools in manufacturing can be used to create irregular and curved surfaces that can be then ready for decoration.

Translation - English Welcome to your Niagra adventure with National Helicopters! Do not alight from the helicopter without prior approval from the onboard crew or staff on the ground. After alighting, walk towards the front of the aircraft, and never towards the back to ensure the pilot has a clear view of you. Aircraft safety cards are located in the front and back of the helicopter cabin. Photography is permitted while the helicopter is in motion. Have a safe trip, and Bon Voyage!
Chinese to English: Singapore-Malaysia Merger
Source text - Chinese
Translation - English Ever since the Singapore-Malaysia split, the merger question has often been posited. To sum up opinions, a vast majority considers a merger an inevitability that will come to pass. The reason is that the historical, geographical and economical ties that exist between Singapore and Malaysia are intricate and indivisible. Nevertheless, when this ideal can become an actuality—whether in 5 or even 10 years—is wild speculation.
