TITLE: Iveco Irisbus presenta il GX 127 3 porte

Il GX 127 nella versione tre porte ha fatto il suo debutto italiano la settimana scorsa in occasione della presentazione ufficiale a Balocco.

Questo veicolo urbano, prodotto nello stabilimento di Rorthais di Heuliez Bus, società del gruppo Iveco Irisbus, è il primo della gamma “Access’Bus” - comprendente anche modelli sino a 18 m di lunghezza realizzati su base meccanica Citelis - che viene commercializzato al momento in Italia.

La versione presentata a Balocco ha 3 porte doppie, è lunga 9,45 m e, con una larghezza di soli 2,33 m e un raggio di ingombro di 8.820 m. permette una eccezionale manovrabilità che ben si adatta agli stretti centri storici delle città italiane; il pianale ribassato garantisce una perfetta accessibilità, l’altezza di 2,395 m. rende estremamente fruibile lo spazio interno, mentre le ampie vetrate che prevedono in opzione anche le vetrature aggiuntive “lumibus” (triangolari laterali o sul tetto) e la possibilità di sedili con schienale traslucido rendono il GX 127 estremamente luminoso. Anche l’illuminazione notturna è particolarmente gradevole, grazie alle luci a led integrate nelle colonne.

Il motore è un Tector F4A 6 cilindri 264 CV (194Kw) diesel EEV, con o senza filtro del particolato (in questo caso le emissioni di particolato, già bassissime, vengono ulteriormente ridotte del 95%); il cambio automatico a 6 marce è un ALLISON T280 R con rallentatore idraulico incorporato; l’ impianto elettrico è multiplex CAN con accesso rapido alla diagnostica di bordo, integrata nel cruscotto.

La struttura del veicolo prevede materiali esenti da ossidazione (acciaio inox e resine composite); la dotazione di serie comprende l’impianto di climatizzazione, la pedana disabili manuale, l’ABS (antibloccaggio ruote) e l’ASR (antipattinaggio ruote).

La capacità di trasporto è di 71 passeggeri con 59 posti in piedi, 12 posti a sedere (o 62 posti totali con disabile su sedia a rotelle presente a bordo) e la disponibilità della terza porta posteriore di tipo doppio, unita al pianale perfettamente piatto ad una altezza dal suolo di soli 320 mm., permette la massima facilità e rapidità di accesso a bordo e di movimentazione interna.

TITLE: Iveco Irisbus introduces the 3 door GX 127
SUBTITLE: First of the 'Access’Bus' range
The three-door version of the GX 127 made its Italian debut last week at an official presentation in Balocco.

This urban bus, produced in the Rorthais plant of Heuliez Bus, an Iveco Irisbus company, is the first in the ‘Access’Bus’ range - also including models up to 18 m in length built on the mechanical platform of the Citelis - which is currently marketed in Italy.

The version introduced in Balocco has three double doors and is 9.45 m in length. A width of just 2.33 m and turning radius of 8.820 m allow outstanding manoeuvrability that is ideal for cramped Italian old town centres. The low floorpan guarantees great accessibility while a height of 2.395 m. makes the interior space particularly user-friendly. Oceans of glass, plus the options of additional ‘lumibus’ windows (triangular at the side or roof-mounted) and seats with translucent backrests, ensure the GX 127 is extremely well-lit. The night lighting is also particularly easy on the eye due to led lighting built into the columns.

The engine is a Tector F4A 6 cylinder 264 HP (194Kw) diesel EEV, with or without particulate filter (a device that slashes the already ultra-low particulate emissions by a further 95%). The 6-speed automatic transmission is an ALLISON T280 R with built-in hydraulic retarder. The electric system is a CAN multiplex system with quick access to on-board diagnostics incorporated in the dashboard.

The vehicle structure features rust-free materials (stainless steel and composites). The standard equipment list includes climate control, manual step for the disabled, ABS (antilock braking system) and ASR (anti-slip regulator).

The carrying capacity is 71 passengers with 59 standing places, 12 seated places (or total of 62 places with a disabled passenger in wheelchair on board). The option of a double third rear door, in conjunction with a perfectly flat floorpan and ground clearance of just 320 mm, makes it quick and easy to get on board and move around inside.

Bio
I am an English mother tongue translator living and working near London in the UK and also based for part of the year in Rome. I translate from Italian into English and also from Spanish into English.

After gaining a degree in Biology at York University, I went to live in Italy and worked as an in-house translator for four years in Turin, Italy’s motor industry capital, to gain a solid grounding in automotive engineering before starting a successful freelance career in the UK that now spans 28 years.

I am a Fellow of the ITI, Member of the Chartered IOL, AITI and TA (Society of Authors). I also have a second BA degree in English literature/History of Ideas.

In addition to automotive engineering, I also specialise in medical/pharmaceutical translations and EU institutional translations.

I have bid successfully for various EU and EC translation framework contracts since the 1990s and currently hold GEN and FL-RAIL contracts with the EU.
