No matter the product or service that you are selling, positive attitude, energy and preparation will make a large difference between just barely paying the bills to being able to take that vacation to the Caribbean next summer. Throughout this book you will read tips and tricks gathered from my experiences as a successful sales person. I will show you how I not only make the sale, but also gain clients and referrals for life. Preparation When you think of the word “prepared” or “preparation” in terms of your position as a sales person what comes to mind? Of course being properly dressed and groomed is an important one, as is knowing your product and competition. However, have you given thought to your mental and emotional preparation? Being prepared to make the sale mentally and emotionally is perhaps the most important stage of “getting ready” for work and it is also the one that is most often neglected. When you are on your way to the office, how are you utilizing the transit time? Of course if you are driving your car reading materials is not something that is possible to do. Most people during their transit time either read the newspaper or a non-related novel or listen to the news on the radio. While there is nothing inherently wrong with this, you will not be arriving at your office or sales appointment in the right frame of mind. When you walk in that door you will be thinking about what you read in the paper or the person who cut you off in traffic. These habits have a draining effect on your emotional and mental energy that can affect your entire days’ worth of work and ultimately your sales production. Instead of allowing these distractions to take away your concentration and energy, find yourself an inspirational book, music or audio book (a great classic suggestion is Dale Carnegie’s “How to Makes Friends and Influence People” and make sure that you read or listen to it on your way into work all the while telling yourself how fantastic a day you will be having. Perhaps that seems a little hokey to you, however it has been proven that taking the time to push your energy levels up and taking in inspirational quotes and information will help you to keep going throughout the day with a positive attitude and a smile on your face. We are our own worst enemies; worrying about our sales and the bills while on the job only makes certain that we will fail. If we have taken the time to completely convince ourselves that we will have a great day and also make lots of quality contacts and sales then we will make it happen because our emotional energy towards it is positive. Have you done your homework? Perhaps this question brings you back to memories of elementary school when the teacher would ask each and every student if they had done their homework. You knew the ones who had not by their lowered heads, the fact that they would do anything to make themselves invisible and perhaps just trying to hide their lack of preparedness altogether when the teacher brings out that pop quiz. Perhaps a time or two you were this person and you remember quite vividly the burning cheeks and the panic inside that comes with needing to know something that you didn’t and the possibility of being embarrassed in front of your peers. Let’s take this same idea and put it to work in our current profession. This is where research comes in and will become your best friend. They say that knowledge is power, and this is very true. However, in the sales business knowledge is money as well. It goes without saying that you should know as much as humanly possible about your product and have a firm belief in its benefits to those that you are selling to. Here are some questions that you should be asking yourself as you prepare to makes your sales calls for the day: 1. What do I know about the people I will be contacting today? 2. What direction should I take the sales pitch in? 3. What features and benefits will be most attractive to my client? 4. What do I know about the competition? 5. What answers do I have to their rebuttals? 6. Can I anticipate what their rebuttals will be? 7. Have I Completed My Homework??? It all comes down to research. Knowing the demographic of your prospects will give you much insight into how you will want to approach them during your sales call or visit. For example, you wouldn’t want to show up to a sales visit with a family in a downtrodden neighborhood wearing your absolute best Italian three piece suit. Most likely you will want to wear a pair of khakis and a casual looking button down shirt and sturdy shoes. First impressions that the prospect receives are going to be the lasting impression that they have and often will dictate if they will buy from you. If the previously mentioned prospect saw you in all your finery most likely they will make the assumption that your product or service is far too expensive for them even if it is within their budget. So, each morning when you are preparing to make your calls and/or visits make certain that you take a little time to look at your prospect list and learn a bit about each group of people on it. Reach for the Stars! Setting goals in the sales industry is something that is absolutely necessary! When you are starting out on a new product or service make sure that you again take the time to research the product, the competition and the prospects so that you have some idea of how to go about making the proposal and the sale. Of course by now you are also listening to inspirational material on your way to work, so you are keeping your energy up and keeping it positive right? That energy is what is going to give you the fuel to make and beat your goals day after day. The important part about goal setting is to make them easy to be tracked and attainable. To go into a brand new sales situation without knowing much about the product and the prospects and expect to become the number one sales person is unrealistic. If you set yourself unrealistic goals you will quickly lose any momentum you have managed to gain because of disappointment and perhaps even self-doubt. There is no greater career killer in sales than self-doubt! Here are some steps to creating attainable goals: 1. Write down your goal: This can mean appointments set or sales made, whatever you do, make sure it is something realistic given the time you have in a day! 2. Break down the goal into small steps: By doing this you can make it seem a lot less overwhelming and you can celebrate small successes along the way. 3. From your goal, create an intention statement: For example, you want to make sure that you sell 100 widgets in a one week, period. You’ve broken down the necessary steps and now you’re ready to make your intention statement. A useful one could be “I am an active and engaging sales person who will sell 25 widgets today. My positive energy will bring me all that I need to complete this goal.” 4. Place your written intention statement where you can see it easily: By reinforcing this belief in yourself and your goal, you make it far more likely that you will maintain the drive to complete it. 5. Be self-competitive: What is meant by this is, set your goal and attain it. When you make the next goal seek to set it a little higher and break it! Make it a competition with your own self. It goes without saying that when you reach your goal, you should treat yourself in celebration. Things like treating yourself to a dinner out at your favorite restaurant or a new book (if you are a reader) for your library are excellent small rewards for reaching your goals. Knowing that you have this treat waiting for you at the end of the goal will help you to “keep your eyes on the prize” as they say. 		Translation - Arabic

المعركة الصعبة
رجالُ المبيعاتِ العُظماء لا يُولدون، بل يُصنعون. بغضّ النّظر عن المُنتج أو الخدمة التي تقوم بتقديمها، فإنّ السلوكَ الإيجابيّ والطاقةَ والإستعداد، كلُّها، تَصْنَعُ فارقاً كبيراً بين  مجرّد القُدرةِ  على دَفعِ الفواتير وبين القُدرةِ على أخذِ تلك العطلة إلى جزر الكارايب الصيفَ القادم. وفي هذا الكتاب ستجِدُ النصائحَ والحِيَلَ التي قُمتُ بجَمعِها من خِبرتي كرجلِ مبيعاتٍ ناجح. لن أريك كيف أقومُ بالبيعِ فقط، ولكن أيضاً كيف تكسب العملاء والإحالات على عملاء جدد  لمدى الحياة.  
الإستعداد
عندما تُفكّر في كلمة "مُستعدّ" أو "إستعداد" من حيثُ موقفك كرجُلِ مبيعات، فما الذي يتبادرُ إلى ذهنك؟ الأناقةُ وإرتداءُ أفضل الملابس هي أمرٌ مهمٌّ بالطبع  تماما كما هو الحال بالنسبة لمعرفتك بمُنتجِكَ وبمُنافسيك. ولكن، هل فكّرتَ في إستعدادكَ العقلي والنّفسيّ؟ إنّ الإستعداد العقليّ والنّفسيّ  لربّما هو المرحلة الأهمّ من "عمليّة الإستعداد " للعمل وهذه المرحلة يتمّ  عادة تجاهلها في مُعظَم الأوقات.
عندما تتجه في طريقك إلى المكتب، كيف تقومُ بإستغلالِ هذا الوقت؟ بالطبع، إذا كنتَ تقودُ سيّارتك فإنّ القراءةَ ليست أمراً يُمكنك القيامُ به. أثناءَ فترةِ التنقّل يقوم مُعظم الناس إمّا بقراءةِ الصُّحِفِ أو الرواياتِ أو يقومونَ بالإستماع إلى الأخبار عِبرَ الإذاعة. وبالرُّغمِ من أنّه لا يوجدِ عيب في ذلك، إلّا أنّك لن تصل إلى مكتبكَ أو موعِدِكَ بالإستعدادِ العقلي الصحيح. عندما تَعبُر ذلك الباب سيكونُ تفكيرُك موجّه على المواضيع الّتي قرأتَها في الصَّحيفةِ أو على الشخص الذي التقيت به في طريقَكَ إلى عملك. هذه العادات لها تأثيرٌ سلبيٌّ يستنزفُ طاقتَك العقليّةَ والنفسيّة ما قد يؤثّرُ على عملِ يومِك بالكامل وفي نهاية المطاف على قُدرتك على إنتاجِ المبيعات.
وبدلاً من السّماح لهذه المُلهيات بأنْ تَستَحْوِذَ على تركيزِكَ وتَستَهلِكَ طاقتك، فجِدْ لنفسكَ كِتاباً مُلهماً، مقطوعةً موسيقيّةً رائعةً أو كِتاباً صَوتيّاً (إقتراحٌ كلاسيكيٌ عظيم هو "كيف تصنعُ الأصدقاءَ وتؤثّر في الناس" لمُؤلّفهِ دايل كارنيج)، وتأكّد من قِرائتِه أو الإستماع إليه أثناء طريقِكَ إلى العملِ مؤمنا في قرارة نَفْسِكَ بأنّ يومكَ سيكونُ رائعاً. ربّما يبدو هذا أمراً بسيطاً لك ، إلّا أنّه تمّ إثباتُ أنَّ أخْذَكَ الوقتَ لرفعِ مستوياتِ طاقتكَ وأخذ الإقتباساتِ والمعلوماتِ المُلهِمَة سيساعدُكَ على المِضِيّ قُدُماً بشكلٍ إيجابيّ بينما تعلو البسمة  وجهَكَ طوالَ اليوم.
نحنُ يمكن أن نكون أسوأُ الأعداءِ لأنفُسنا. القلقُ بشأنِ مَبيعاتِنا وفواتيرِنا أثناءَ القيامِ بالعملِ يجعلُ من فَشَلِنا أمراً مُحَتّماً. إذا كُنّا قد أخذنا الوقت اللاّزم لإقناعِ أنفُسِنا بأنّنا سنحصُلُ على يومٍ عظيمٍ وأيضاً بأنّنا سنصنعُ العديدَ من الإتّصالاتِ والمبيعاتِ ذاتِ الجودةِ العالية فحينها سنجعلُ ذلك يتحقّق لأنَّ طاقتنا العاطفيّةَ بهذا الإتّجاهِ إيجابيّة.
هل أنجزتَ فروضَكَ المَنزِلِيّة؟
رُبّما يعود بِكَ هذا السؤال إلى ذكرياتِ المدرسةِ الإبتدائيّةِ عندما كان المعلّمُ يسألُ طُلّابَهُ فيما إذا كانوا قد أنجزوا فُروضَهم المنزليّةَ أم لا. حينها، كُنتَ تستطيعُ مَعرفةَ الطُلاّب اللّذين لم يقوموا بتأديةِ فُروضِهم من خلالِ النّظرِ إلى رؤوسِهم المُطَئْطِئَة، حيث أنّهُم سيقومونَ بأيّ شيءٍ لإخفاءِ أنفُسِهم أو حتّى مُحاوَلَتِهم لإخفاءِ عدمِ إستعدادِهم عندما يقومُ المُعلّمُ بإحضارِ ذلك الإمتحانِ القصيرِ المُفاجئ. ورُبّما كنتَ أنتَ ذلكَ الشّخص لمرَّةٍ أو مرّتين وتتذكّر بشكلٍ واضحٍ تلكَ الوجنتين المُحْمَرَّتَين والذُعْرَ الداخليّ الذي كان يُصيبُكَ بسببِ حاجتِك لمعرفةِ شيءٍ لم تكنْ تَعرِفُهُ وإحتماليّةِ إحراجِكِ أمامَ زُملائِك.
دعونا نأخذ هذه الفكرةَ ولنقُم بتَطبيقها على مِهنتنا الحاليّة. وهنا تأتي أهميّة  البحوث حيثُ ستُصبح أفضلَ صديقٍ لك. يقولونَ أنَّ المعرفةَ قوّةٌ، وهذا صحيحٌ جدّاً. ولكن، في مجالِ المبيعاتِ فإنَّ المعرفةَ نقودٌ كذلك. ومن الغنيّ عن القول، أنّه يَجِبُ عليك معرفةُ مُنتَجكَ جيّدا وأنْ تمتلكَ إعتقاداً راسخاً بفوائدِهِ للأشخاصِ الذين تقومُ ببيعِهِ لَهُم. وهذه بعضُ الأسئلةِ التي يجب أنْ تَسألَها لنَفْسِكَ عند الإستعدادِ لعقدِ صفقاتِ المبيعاتِ لهذا اليوم:1. ما الذي أعرِفُهُ عن الناسِ اللذين سأقومُ بالتواصلِ معهم اليوم؟2. ما هو الإتّجاهُ الذي يجبُ عليّ أن أَتّجِهَ إليه بالمبيعاتِ ؟3.    ما هي الميزاتُ والفوائدُ التي ستكونُ أكثرَ جاذبيّةُ لموكّلي؟4.    ما الذي أعرفُه عن المُنافَسة؟5.    ما الإجاباتُ التي أملِكُها لتفنيداتهم؟6. هل يُمكنني التنبّأ بماهيّة تفنيداتهم؟7.   هل أنهيتُ واجباتي؟؟؟
إنّ كلَّ ذلكَ يعودُ في النهايةِ إلى البحث. معرفةُ ديموغرافيّةِ عُملائك المُحتمَلين سيُعطيكَ نظرةً ثاقبةً عن الكيفيّةِ التي ستقومُ من خلالِها بالتّقرُّبِ من الناس أثناءَ زياراتِ العملِ أو صفقاتِ البيعِ الخاصَّةِ بك. فعلى سبيل المثال، أنت لا تُريد الظهورَ مُرتدياً بَدلتكَ الإيطاليّةَ الأفضلَ على الإطلاق في زيارةِ عملٍ إلى عائلةٍ تقطُنُ في حيٍّ شعبيّ. في تلك الحالة ستحتاجُ  على الأرجَحِ إلى إرتداءِ  سروال وقميصٍ عاديٍ وحذاءٍ قويٍّ. إنَّ الإنطباعَ الأوّلَ الذي يتلقّاهُ عُملائك المُحتملين سيكونُ هو الإنطباعَ الدائمَ لديهم والذي غالباً ما يحدّد ما إذا كانوا سيقومونَ بالشّراءِ أم لا. إذا قامَ العُملاءُ المُحتمَلين الذين ذكرناهم سابقاً برؤيتك في أفضلِ أناقةٍ لك، فإنَّهُم على الأغلبِ سيقومونَ بالإفتراضِ بأنَّ مُنتجَكَ أو الخِدمةَ التي تُقدّمُها ستكونُ مرتفعةَ السّعرِ إلى حدٍّ كبيرٍ بالنسبةٍ لهُم حتّى وإن كانت ضِمنَ  حدود ميزانيّتهم. لذا، وكلَّ صباحٍ، أثناءَ إستعدادِكَ لإجراءِ المكالماتِ أو الزياراتِ فتأكًّدْ مِنْ أنْ تأخُذَ بعضَ الوقتِ للنظرِ إلى قائمةِ عُملائِكَ المُحتمَلين وأنْ تَتَعَلَّمَ القليلَ عن كلّ مَجموعةٍ من الناسِ في هذه القائمة.
الإرتقاءُ إلى القمّة!
تحديدُ الأهداف في مجالِ المبيعاتِ هو أَمرٌ ضروريُّ للغاية! عندما تبدأ مُنتَجاً أو خِدمةً جديدةً فتأكّد مرّةً أُخرى من أنْ تخصص الوقتَ اللاّزم لتبحثَ في المُنتج و المُنافسَة و والعُملاءَ المُحتمَلين بحيثُ تتشكّلُ لديكَ الفكرة عن آليّةِ وكيفيّةِ تقديم العرضِ وصُنعِ الصفقة. وبالطّبع في طريقِكَ إلى العمل  أنتَ  أيضاً تستمعُ إلى بعضِ الأمورِ المُلهِمةِ ، بحيث تُبقي طاقَتكَ عاليةً وإيجابيّةً، صحيح؟ تلك الطاقةُ هي التّي ستُعطيكَ الوَقودَ الللازمَ لصُنعِ وتحقيقِ أهدافِكَ يوماً بعد يوم. 
الجُزءُ الهامُّ في تحديدِ الأهداف هو جَعلُها سهلةَ التتبُّعِ وقابلةً للتّحقيق. إنّ الدخولَ في وضعِ مبيعاتٍ جديدٍ دونَ معرفةِ الكثيرِ عن المُنتَج والعُملاءِ المُحتَمَلين والتّوقّع بأنْ تُصبحَ رَجُلَ المبيعاتِ الأوّل هو أمرٌ غير واقعي. إذا قُمتَ بتحديد أهدافٍ غيرَ واقعيّةٍ لنفسك، فإنّك ستفقِدُ وبسُرعةٍ شديدةٍ أيَّ زخمٍ كُنتَ قد نَجحتَ في كَسْبِه وذلكَ بسبَبِ خيبةِ الأملِ أو رُبّما حتى إهتزازُ الثقةِ بالنفس. ليسَ هنالكَ ما هو أكثرُ خطورةً على مهنة المبيعات من عدم الثّقة بالنفس! وهنا ستجدونَ بعضَ الخُطوات الّتي ستُساعِدُكَ على تحديدِ أهدافٍ  واقعيّة ومُمكنةِ التّحقيق:1. قم بكتابةِ هدفِك: ويُمكن أن يكونَ هذا الهدف هو عددُ المرّات التي نَجَحْتَ فيها بتعيين المواعيدِ أو عددُ المرّات التي نَجَحْتَ فيها بإجراءِ الصّفقات. وأيّاً كان، فتأكّد من أن يكونَ هدفُكَ واقعيّاً نظراً للوقت الذي تملكُه في يومٍ واحد!2. جزِّء هدفك إلى خطواتٍ صغيرةٍ: وبذلك يُمكنُكُ جعلُهُ يبدو أقلَّ صُعوبةً ويُمكنكَ الإحتفالُ بالنّجاحاتِ الصغيرةِ على مدى الّصفقة.3. من هدفك، إخلِق جٌملةَ عزمٍ ونيّةٍ:على سبيلِ المثال، أنت تُريدُ التأكّدَ من أنّكَ ستبيعُ 100 أداةٍ خلال أسبوعٍ واحدٍ. وكجُملةٍ مُفيدةٍ يُمكنكَ القول " أنا رجلُ أعمالٍ نَشِطٍ ومُثيرٍ للإهتمام وسأقومُ ببيعِ 25 أداةٍ لهذا اليوم. طاقتي الإيجابيّة ستَجلبُ لي كلَّ ما أحتاجُه لتحقيق هذا الهدف."4. ضع جُملةَ العزم المَكتوبةَ حيثُ يُمكنكُ رُؤيتُها بسهولة: من خلالِ تعزيزِ هذا الإعتقاد في نفسِكَ وفي هَدَفِكَ، فإنّكَ ستزيدُ إلى حدٍّ كبيرٍ أرجحيّةَ إحتفاظِكَ بالدّافعِ لإكمالِ هذا الهدف.5. كُنْ منافساً لذاتِك: المَقصودُ من هذا هو أنْ تضعَ لنفسكَ هدفاً وتُحقّقه، وعندما تقومُ بوضعِ الهدفِ التالي إرفَعْ مُستوى الهدف قليلاً وأنجزهُ! إجعل ذلك فرصة للمنافسةً مع ذاتك.ومن الغنيّ عن القول أنّك عندما تصلُ إلى هدفكَ، فيجبُ عليكَ أن تحتفل بذلك كأن تتناوَلَ العشاءَ في مطعمِكَ المُفضَّل أو أن تشتريَ لنفسكَ كتاباً جديداً (إذا كُنتَ تُحِبُّ القراءة). إنّ هذه المكافآت الصّغيرة تُعتَبَرُ أمراً رائعاً  إذ متساعَدَتِكَ في الوصولِ إلى أهدافِك حيثُ أنَّ معرفَتكَ بوجودِ هذه المكافآت بإنتظارِكَ عند تحديد هدفِكَ سيحفزّك  ويُساعِدُكَ على "إبقاء عَيْنَيْكَ على المكافأة" كما يُقال.

Between Heumarkt and Roncalliplatz the Colognian wave will undulate through the city, turning the whole of the "World Cup City" into a pulsating event area. Tens of thousands of visitors will be able, in the heart of Cologne, to follow the FIFA World cup games live on big screens: Public Viewing – genuine stadium atmosphere, and a ticket is not needed.

Even now anticipation for the FIFA World Cup 2006TM in Cologne is evident. Numerous events already identify the cathedral city as "World Cup qualified": exhibitions, theatre, concerts, dance shows, jazz nights and much more indicate what the friends of footie can expect during the world championship in Cologne.

تُعدّ مدينةُ كولونيا مدينةً متميّزةً عن غيرها من المدنِ الألمانية من حيثُ التنوّعُ الثقافي والعمق التاريخي، وتَتَميَّزُ هذه المدينةُ أيضاً بسكّانها المتسامحين والشغوفين إضافةً إلى مُحبّي ومُشَجّعي كُرةِ القدم المخلصين والمُفعمين بالحماس.

وسيكون هنالك مهرجانٌ جماهيريٌ كبيرٌ في كولونيا حيثُ ستندفعُ الجماهيرُ في وَسطِ المدينةِ مثلَ "موجةٍ مكسيكيّةٍ ضخمةٍ": صخبٌ رياضيٌ وأنشطةٌ متعدّدة الألوانِ من البرامجِ الرياضيّةِ والثقافيّةِ والتشاركية. وستتمّ زخرفةُ الاحتفال بمزيجٍ من فنّ الطهوِ المحلّي والعالمي متبوعاً بالأنشطةِ الثقافيّةِ والترفيهيّةِ الرائعة. وفي نهاية المطاف، ستكون النتيجةُ هي خلقُ " موجةٍ كولونيّةٍ" رائعةٍ وخلّابةٍ.
