Though of Polish origin, Joseph Conrad is considered one of the major English novelists of the 20th century.
At the age of seenteen Conrad became a sailor. Twenty years he travelled the world before devoting the rest of his life to writing. His many travels and his fascination for the sea and exotic countries provided him with background materal for his novels.
Human isolation is a major theme in Conrad's novels. As in Heart of Darkness, he portrays characters who are alone, struggling against their own conscience, the environment and society.		Translation - Swedish

Vid sjutton års ålder gick han till sjöss. Under tjugo års tid reste han runt i världen för att sedan ägna resten av sitt liv åt skrivandet. Hans många resor och hans fascination för havet och exotiska länder försåg honom med stoff till hans romaner.
Mänsklig isolering är ett övergripande tema i Conrads romaner. Liksom i Mörkrets Hjärta skildrar han ofta karaktärer som står ensamma i kampen mot sina egna samveten, mot sin omgivning och mot samhället.

Bio
I am currently working full time as an English teacher in a Swedish Upper Secondary school where I teach linguistics and literature, as well as psychology. I have a Master's Degree in English and have made a number of translations for companies working in the field of tourism, questionnaires distributed by universities as well as minor literary translations on demand.
I am always very keen to accomplish a fluent, flawless translation.
