Source text - English To the Kurds, the Arabs are bearers of great misfortune. The decades-long oppression of Iraq’s Kurds culminated during the rule of Saddam Hussein, whose Sunni Arab–dominated army committed genocide against them in the late 1980s. Yet their unfaltering faith that they will one day be free may soon be rewarded: the Kurds are finally edging close to independence. Much blood may be spilled as Kurdistan unhitches itself from Iraq—Turkey is famously sour on the idea of Kurdish independence, fearing a riptide of nationalist feeling among its own unhappy Kurds—but independence for Iraq’s Kurds seems, if not immediate, then in due course inevitable.
In many ways, the Kurds are functionally independent already. The Kurdish regional government has its own army, collects its own taxes, and negotiates its own oil deals. For the moment, Kurdish officials say they would be satisfied with membership in a loose-jointed federation with the Shiite and Sunni Arabs to their south. But in Erbil and Sulaymani, the two main cities of the Kurdish region, the Iraqi flag is banned from flying; Arabic is scarcely heard on the streets (and is never spoken by young people, who are happily ignorant of it), and Baghdad is referred to as a foreign capital. In October, when I was last in the region, I called the office of a high official of the peshmerga, the Kurdish guerrilla army, but was told that he had “gone to Iraq” for the week.
Translation - Arabic يعتبر الأكراد أن العرب هم السبب الأكبر للمصائب. وقد بلغ قهر أكراد العراق ذروته إبان حكم الرئيس الراحل صدام حسين حيث كان العرب السنة يقودون عمليات الإبادة العرقية للأكراد في أواخر الثمانينات. إلا أن ايمانهم الراسخ بنيلهم حريتهم ذات يوم كان على وشك التحقق حيث أنهم يقتربون ،وأخيراً، من تحقيق استقلالهم. قد تُراق الكثير من الدماء خلال عملية انفصال كردستان العراقية عن العراق كما لا يخفى أن تركيا ممتعضة من فكرة استقلال كردستان العراقية وخائفة من تسبب هذا في ظهور التمرد لدى الأكراد الأتراك إلا أن استقلال أكراد العراق وإن لم يكن سيتحقق على الفور فإنه يعتبر أمرا لا مفر منه.
يمكن اعتبار أن الأكراد مستقلين إدارياً من عدة نواحي حيث أن للحكومة الكردية الاقليمية جيشاً خاصاً بها وتجمع الضرائب الخاصة بها كما تفاوض في صفقات النفط بشكل مستقل. ويقول المسؤولون الأكراد بأنهم سيكونون راضين عن عضوية في اتحاد فيدرالي "فضفاض" بينهم وبين الشيعة والسنة العرب إلى جنوبهم. إلا أنه يُمنع رفع العلم العراقي في كل من اربيل والسليمانية – كبرى المدن في الاقليم الكردستاني - كما أنه بالكاد تُسمع اللغة العربية في الشارع ولن تسمع أي من الشباب يتكلمها على الاطلاق وهم سعداء لجهلهم بها، كما أنه يُشار إلى بغداد كعاصمة أجنبية. كنت في آخر زيارة لي للمنطقة في تشرين الأول/ اكتوبر الماضي قد اتصلت بمكتب مسؤول كبير من البشمركة الكردية – حركة المقاومة الكردية – طلباً للحديث معه إلا أنه تم إعلامي بأنه "سافر إلى العراق" لمدة أسبوع.

Translation - English (3) Dowry: Instant: One golden Lira

(4) Mode of Dowry Payment: the wife’s brother acknowledges receiving the entire instant dowry in the amount of one golden lira.
(5) The Two Contracting Parties: the husband’s proxy and the wife’s proxy her aforementioned brother.
(6) Conditions: no conditions.
(8) Guardian’s Consent or Court’s Permission: Wife’s consent and her aforementioned Guardian’s consent – her brother.
(9) Contract Wording: Wife’s attorney in fact, her brother, said to the husband’s proxy: I give your client in marriage my sister on the above mentioned dowry, and the husband’s proxy replied immediately saying: and I accept this marriage for my client and accept the mentioned dowry.

Source text - English Pursuant to C.R.S. § 14-11-101 in order to register a foreign judgment issued by a court of another country by this state, one must send the following documents to this Court: a letter requesting registration, two copies, including one certified copy, of the determination sought to be registered, the name and address of the person seeking registration and any parent in the child- custody determination sought to be registered.
The Petitioner in this matter has filed with this Court all the appropriate documents. She has filed a motion seeking the registration of her Religious Court. She has provided this Court with certified copies of the parties the Religious Court judgment. In addition, the Petitioner provided the Court with translations of the documents from John Doe Center
for Writing and Translation Services. In addition, the Petitioner must obtain personal service on the Respondent. The Petitioner obtained personal service on the Respondent on June 10, 2008 by
having a personal process server hand deliver him the documents in XYZ, Louisiana. The Respondent has not objected to the registration of their Religious Court judgment in
this Court within twenty days of service.
Translation - Arabic عملاً بالمادة رقم § 14-11-101 من قانون ولاية كولورادو المنقح بخصوص تسجيل حكم أجنبي صادر من بلد آخر لدى هذه الولاية فإنه يتوجب على مقدم الطلب تقديم الأوراق التالية للمحكمة: رسالة يطلب فيها التسجيل، نسختين من الحكم الصادر المراد تسجيله على أن تكون إحداهما مصدقة، اسم وعنوان الشخص الذي يسعى لتسجيل الحكم وأي من الوالدين في قضية حضانة الطفل المراد تسجيلها.
قامت المدعية في هذا الشأن بتقديم جميع الوثائق المطلوبة إلى هذه المحكمة. و قامت بتقديم التماس لتسجيل الحكم الصادر من المحكمة الشرعية. وزودت هذه المحكمة بنسخ من الحكم الصادر من المحكمة الشرعية مصدقة أصولياً من الجهات الرسمية المختصة. كما زودت المدعية المحكمة بنسخ مترجمة من الوثائق قام بترجمتها مركز جون دو لخدمات الترجمة والكتابة. وبالإضافة إلى ذلك، يتوجب على المدعية تبليغ المدعى عليه شخصياً بمذكرة الدعوى. قامت المدعية بإجراء تبليغ مذكرة الدعوى للمدعى عليه بشكل شخصي بتاريخ 10 حزيران 2008 وذلك بتسليمه الوثائق باليد في مدينة اكس واي زي في ولاية لويزيانا عن طريق محضر خاص. لم يعترض المدعى عليه على تسجيل حكم المحكمة الشرعية لدى هذه المحكمة خلال عشرين يوماً من تبليغه.
