Source text - Spanish Una de las actividades más famosas de los Sanfermines es el “Encierro”, que consiste en una carrera de unos 800 metros delante de los toros y que culmina en la plaza de toros. Los encierros tienen lugar todos los días entre el 7 y el 14 de julio y comienzan a las ocho de la mañana, con una duración promedio de entre dos y tres minutos.
El cohete o "chupinazo"
Se trata del cohete que se lanza el día 6 de julio de cada año a las doce del mediodía desde el balcón de la casa consistorial de Pamplona para señalar el inicio de las fiestas de San Fermín o sanfermines. Congrega gran número de público y se suele retransmitir en directo por televisión. Es el chupinazo más famoso del mundo.
El origen de esta tradición se halla a principios del siglo XX. El Ayuntamiento de Pamplona contrataba una empresa de pirotecnia que disparaba una serie de cohetes el día 6 de julio, víspera de la fiesta de San Fermín, para señalar el inicio de las fiestas. Los cohetes se disparaban desde la Plaza del Castillo por un empleado de la empresa, sin mayores ceremonias. En la década de los años treinta empezó a congregarse una buena cantidad de público en el momento del lanzamiento de los cohetes, y algunos pamploneses solicitaban del operario que les permitiese prender la mecha.
Translation - English One of the most famous activities of the San Fermín festival is the “Encierro” (The Running of the Bulls), which consists in a 800-meter race in front of the bulls and which ends at the bullring (“plaza de toros”). The running of the bulls takes places every day from July 7th to July 14th and it starts at 8.00 a.m. lasting for an average of 2 to 3 minutes.
The skyrocket or “chupinazo”
It is the skyrocket shot every year on July 6th at midday from the balcony of the town hall of Pamplona to signal the beginning of the San Fermín festival or “sanfermines”. It gathers a large audience and it is usually rebroadcasted live on TV. It is the most famous “chupinazo” (skyrocket shot) in the world.
The origin of this tradition goes back to the 20th century. The town hall of Pamplona employed a pyrotechnics enterprise which shot a series of skyrockets on July 6th, on the eve of the San Fermín festival, to thus signal the beginning of the festivities. The skyrockets were shot from the Plaza del Castillo (Castle Square) by an employee of the enterprise without any other great ceremonies. During the decade of the ´30s a large audience began to gather at the moment of the skyrocket launch and some of the Pamplona people (“Pamploneses”) would ask the employed worker to allow them to fire the fuse.

Eurostat and DG Health and Consumer Protection are developing the European Health Survey System (EHSS) for the purpose of implementing and enhancing the modules for health surveys. For DG Health and Consumer Protection this an important aspect of the collection of data forming the basis for the European Community Health Indicators (ECHI) defined in the Community Public Health Programme.
The European Health Survey System is defined as a combination of existing international or national survey instruments with appropriately designed common questions modules. It comprises a Core Health Interview Survey, managed by the Community Statistical Programme and a set of Special Health Interview Survey modules, managed by the Public Health Programme. A feasibility study for a European Health Examination Survey is also a part of the system.
More specifically, the goals of European Health Survey System can be summarized as follows:

Source text - English Endomyocardial fibrosis (EMF) is an idiopathic disorder of the tropical and subtropical regions of the world that is characterized by the development of restrictive cardiomyopathy.
The nosology of EMF coincides with some related disorders. EMF is sometimes considered part of a spectrum of a single disease process that includes Löffler endocarditis (nontropical eosinophilic endomyocardial fibrosis or fibroplastic parietal endocarditis with eosinophilia).
Tropical EMF and Löffler endocarditis should be distinguished from endocardial fibroelastosis, which is characterized by cartilaginous thickening of the mural endocardium, chiefly of the left ventricle. This disease is most common in the first 2 years of life and, in some patients, appears to be an inherited disorder that is associated with congenital cardiac malformations.

Hello!
I am a sworn translator of English, Spanish & Romanian since 2003.
Although my mother tongue is Romanian I grew up listening to English and learning English since I was 7. I even chose English to write my blog, as I felt more comfortable with it. It just felt natural to me.
On the other hand, I have been living in Spain since 2005, so after years of studying this language, the experience of living and working here as a professional translator allows me to say I am almost bilingual in Spanish, also.
