I think there's something wrong in this sentence and can't work out how the bit between question marks fits in.

Como el timeout es de 5 min. conviene que el centro emita la trama cada 2 minutos (para asegurar que aunque se pierda una trama el terminal no cuelga) ¿¿¿¿¿el mensaje micrófono "*", altavoz "C" ó full-duplex "7" que corresponda al estado actual.?????

agree  Jennifer Levey: Yes. Without more context I imagine this could just be a simple 'keep-alive' technique based on the occasional sending of a status message that has no direct impact on current line operations.
