Spanish term or phrase: anexo
Used in a document describing functions of an IP Centrex system. I had imagined that this meant "extension, but there are parts that make my believe this is related, but not actually the extension, that is at least where "anexo" and "extensión" appear in the same sentence. Some examples:

Centrex extension
Explanation:
The text appears to use 'extención' systematically to refer to a conventional PBX extension, and 'anexo' to refer to the equivalent 'emd-user' line in the Centrex system. Perhaps they use different words to help clarify (sic) whether they are referring to the PBX or the Centrex hard/software...

Or maybe the IP software multiplexes several 'anexos' onto a single PBX extension ...?

I'm not aware of a specific term for 'anexo' in IP telephony - one possibility would be to prepend 'Centrex' to 'extension' when when it refers to the Centrex 'anexo'.
