I have of course translated this as ´three waters´but wondered if there is something more technical. Thanks!

As aceavila - Noni correctly pointed out, this has to do with roofing. In Routledge Spanish Technical Dicitonary, we have:

"tejado a una agua" single-pitch roof"

"tejado a cuatro aguas" hip roof, hiped roof"

"tejado a dos aguas double pitch roof, gable roof, pitch roof, ridged roof"

So one of the correct technical translations for "3 aguas" should be " triple pitched"
