I've seen this term in other questions, but not in the context of film/stage sets. In my context, it is a wooden, metal or plastic frame with canvas or other fabric stretched across it to make up a film or stage set.

si es para usos de serigrafía sería "screen", para usos en arte, pintura etc. yo usaría simplemente canvas. "canvas with frame" podría ser demasiado o redundante

No, I take it back. It\'s \"flat.\" I was thinking only of the framework over which the material is stretched. The whole construction is a flat.
