Norwegian term

markedsmessigheten

Norwegian to English Bus/Financial Law: Taxation & Customs Change to tax assessment
Hi - I'm trying to find an accurate EN translation for this It appears in a request by tax authorities for clarification of an agreement between two group companies. the only thing I can find is "marketability" but that is closer to "salgbarhet"

Markedsmessigheten av verdidelingen

Elsewhere "marketsmessig" appears which seems best as "market-based".

Gjennom en intemavtale er deler av denne muligheten overført til XXX, mot en kompensasjon. Spørsmålet i denne sak er om avtaleforholdet er markedsmessig.

thanks for your help!

Christopher Schröder Jan 3, 2022:
Yes this is about whether transfer pricing is market-based. You’ll have to write around the noun form (e.g. compliance)

arm's length fairness; (gen.) merchantability (of goods)

In transfer pricing, the test is the arm's length pirinciple.

Otherwise, in the UK Sale of Goods Acts as some of us read carefully at Uni., merchantability of old turned into the term of marketability.

Contrast and compare martgerecht in DEU : mark-to-market or market fair etc. prices.

marktgerecht and Marktgerechtigkeit in DEU....
Example sentence:

COM da offentlige virksomheder hvis hovedfunktion består i at producere ikke-finansielle markedsmæssige varer og tjenester COM en public entreprises producing goods and non-financial market services

The basis of transfer pricing is the Arm's Length Principle, as it is known internationally.

Peer comment(s):

neutral Christopher Schröder : Yes, but arm's-length pricing can be market-based or cost-based. Merchantability is a red herring.

Your first comment is absured and your second based on ignorance of the UK Sales of Goods Acts.
