Bequest/legacy is of goods or money (chattels) only vs. a devise which is of land only. There is no indication that one or the other has been made.

Garzanti's dictionary: beneficiary inheritance/'inheritance of inventory' may be Italo-English, but seem to hide the semblance of an answer.

Benefit of inventory: on acceptance of the estate by the beneficiary/ies, liability is limited to the assets recvd. and not beyond for the debts.
