but ...what is the context?? I think there is the problem of rhyme too... not only a simple translation

agree Lisa Jane : yes, the recepticle or recepticle plus wine which corresponds to just under half litre (0,4557) close to but not exactly a pint. http://www.winetaste.it/il-glossario-del-vino/ Yes you could leave in Italian but nobody would understand it;)

half-liter pitcher/jug of wine

Fojetta
A pitcher/jug that contains half liter of wine - brocca da mezzo litro di vino

Literally 'foglietta' or small leaf. Figuratively pitcher/jug of half liter of wine. Generally the 'Castelli Romani' wine.
It's a Roman dialect term that has almost fallen into disuse, as it was typical when there were taverns where they drank wine in bulk. Now these little taverns hardly exist and the word 'Fojetta' is used really very little.
The English pint is slightly more than half liter, while the US pint is a little less.

Letteralmente 'foglietta' o piccola foglia. Figurativamente brocca da mezzo litro di vino. Generalmente vino 'dei Castelli Romani'.
Si tratta di un termine dialettale romano che è quasi caduto in disuso, perché era tipico di quando c'erano le osterie dove si beveva vino sfuso. Ora queste osterie non esistono quasi più e la parola 'fojetta' si usa veramente molto poco.
La pinta inglese è leggermente più di mezzo litro, mentre quella degli Stati Uniti è un pò meno.
