PRIMROSE ...is perhaps more poetic and I would also prefer garland, although the question refers to "bundna" - more akin to a wreath perhaps.

What difficulty from a simple, sweet idea!! I find gullviva as primula veris, which wiki calls cowslip (http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gullviva, and then Eng). The primrose is identified as primula vulgaris. But in poetry some license should be in order... I prefer garland to wreath ... That is what seems to be used in India and Hawai'i where the signficance of flowers is still modern ... And in England /http://www.countryfile.com/countryside/may-day-festivals)
