Here\'s some support for something like \"cracked\": Spanish piel de cocodrilo (alligator cracking, check, cracking, crazing, crocodile cracking, crocodile leather, seamy surface), cuarteado (alligator cracking, alligator skin, check, checked, cold lap, cracking, crazing, crizzle, crocodile cracking, crocodile skin, hair cracks, orange peel, skin crack, surface folding, vent). (various references)

un sillón orejero de piel cuarteada
natural leather armchair with headrest

Explanation:
to cuartear an animal is to skin it..it means made from natural leather...it's the idea of SKINS..we would say natural leather...orejero is a headrest..the Spanish says an EAR HOLDER..or somesuch...rest one's ears! Great...OREJAS-orejero..

disagree  Daniela Hecht: In this case cuartear doesn't mean to skin, but that the skin is or looks old and crossed by superficial cuts

-> Can't say I have much experience with orejeros, but the first reference is a dictionary. I think the important "unit" here is "sillon orejero". Should have been two questions.

agree  teju: sillón orejero is a wing back chair, and piel cuarteada is a specific type of leather with cracks, my husband is in the leather industry . Piel cuarteada is the type of leather, like there's "pebble grain" or stamped leather, it looks aged

-> Thanks, teju. I had more reservations about the "cracked" part -- doesn't sound like a good selling point ;-)
