Explanation:

Essendo non lineari, i convertitori assorbono dalla rete di alimentazione una corrente distorta, ovvero non perfettamente sinosuidale, che include anche oscillazioni a frequenze superiori a quella di rete, le armoniche appunto. Ne risulta che la corrente erogata dalla sorgente di alimentazione (quindi la corrente nella linea) è costituita anche da oscillazioni a frequenza diversa da quella di rete (50 Hz).

Si chiamano "armoniche condotte" in contrapposizione a quelle generate per induzione elettromagnetica. In ultima analisi, un apparato elettronico può essere disturbato da segnali ricevuti via etere oppure da segnali ricevuti attraverso il cavo di alimentazione, le armoniche condotte appunto.

Un ultimo commento sul termine \"emesse in linea\"; di per sé questo termine non significa tecnicamente nulla. Potrebbe invece significare qualcosa dire \"Armoniche condotte in linea che vengono emesse\"; vale a dire, armoniche condotte nella linea che vengono irradiate in virtù della loro frequenza sufficientemente elevata. Infatti, la linea si comporta come un\'antenna per le armoniche aventi lunghezza d\'onda sufficientemente piccola.
