Ich bin mir relativ sicher, dass hier Verschleißspuren gemeint sind. Bei Maschinentischen z.B. ist es absolut üblich, davon zu sprechen, dass die Tische eingelaufen sind, wenn die Tische Verschleißspuren haben. In deinem Zusammenhang passt das m.E. auch!
