Bus/Financial - Real Estate / Leased office space
German term or phrase: Büroflächenumsatz
I a report issued by a property company.

"Der Bueroflaechenumsatz bewegte sich im Jahr 2003 mit 1,4 Millionen m2 auf dem Niveau des Vorjahres."

And later

"Der Bueroflaechenumsatz erreichte in 2003 ein Volumen von 24.000 m2 ....."

It is clear from the context that this figure is not is not the sale of office space but the volume which is leased. Could someone please give me the correct term used in the property market.

Many thanks in advance

agree  Shane London: Google results aren't prolific but there are enough to suggest that this is the right term, at least around Europe.

-> thanks, Shane. I would have said "at least around the USA"

agree  Ken Cox: As this is squre metres rather than euros, it's the volume of offiice space rented or leased during the year, which is the turnover.
