English term

downrigger

GBK English to Catalan Other Fisheries
Definition from Dictionary.com:
A fishing line used in trolling that is attached to a weighted cable in order to put lures or bait at a specific depth under a boat, usually near the floor.
Example sentences:
As Scott leant over to pick up the rod, one of the rods in the Downriggers also went off. It was the start of a hectic session that saw us catch 4 spaniards, 6 spotted mackerel and a cobia in 2 hours with a few lost fish and missed bites added to the mayhem. All but 2 of the fish came on the Downriggers. (Cannon Downriggers)
By using a downrigger, in combination with a depth sounder, you can present your bait or lure to fish marking on your screen, or at the depth where fish are likely to be holding. (Downriggershop)
For those that are running boats less than 15 feet in length, a short arm downrigger is definitely the route to take. With a craft this size, a compact downrigger design with an arm length that falls between 20 and 24 inches will do the job nicely. (BassProShops)
