Der ganze Text wäre..

Gerne wäre ich das Meer
das dich sanft berührt
Die Sonne
die dich küsst
Die Blüte
die deinem Lächeln entspringt
ArnoTranslat (X) Sep 12, 2010:
Metaphor the blossom budding from your smile
Helen Shiner Sep 11, 2010:
Context We don't have much context and cannot see how this fits with the rest of the poem, so it is not easy to reply, but a literal translation is unlikely to work in EN. How would something like this sound: 'How your face blossoms when you smile' ?
José Patrício Sep 11, 2010:
The shoot that springs from your smile

the blossom in your smile

Given your additional context, I would suggest this. No need for a verb as such.

Your smile is like a flower

"A smile is like a flower.
It blooms within the heart.
Spread the blooms around the world,
and see what it will start."

Your original post ("Der Text ist Teil eines Gedichts ,den ich auf eine Grußkarte setzen will") gave me the impression that you were interested in translating 'den Teil eines Gedichts' into English, that is, only one particular line which you intended to use in a greeting card. My answer was based on that idea. However, now that you have posted the entire verse in the Discussion box, I'm sure more creative suggestions, probably for translating the whole verse, will pour in. Good luck :)

To get the ball rolling:

O', I'd love to be
The sea that softly touches you
The sunshine that gently kisses you
The blossom that your smile brings forth
