German term

umrüstbar

German to English Tech/Engineering Manufacturing Consultancy
umrüstbare Transferstrasse

From presentation on process change in motor manufacturer...

- ss was correct in the original.

convertible

Is there a "zur" between umrüstbar and Tranferstrasse?
If yes, then I think it means "convertible to a transfer line"
Peer comment(s):

neutral David Moore (X) : I almost agree, but I don't think there's a "zur" missing, it's a transfer line that can be re-equipped for another type of (engine, perhaps?) transfer.

refittable / retoolable / can be refitted/retooled

I think any of these suggestions should do.
Peer comment(s):

agree David Moore (X) : re-equipped, maybe? //Just by way of another option to put alongside yours - and Ken's (HNY!!) and what's an "errant question" here? It looks quite valid to me...

Thank you, David, happy New Year! To be honest, I don't know whether "re-equipped" is suitable - I would say it depends on the context, and not much context has been provided ...
agree Ken Cox : 'reconfigurable' would work nicely here (who needs Kudoz points...? -- but I'd be happy to see it in the glossary)//true, but I can imagine worse fates

Thank you, Ken. Happy New Year! Why don't you make your own suggestion? If you leave it as it is, and if I get the points, and if I make the glossary entry (big IFs) then you are at "my mercy" - I might decide not to include 'reconfigurable' ... ;-)
agree Trudy Peters : and with Ken
