Almedina

Almedian is a municipality in Spain, a family nam and the name of a neighborhood, among other options. Maybe your text refers to the fact that Custovic was beeing transfered to the ...neighborhood, or indeed, as the other colleague suggests, Custovics last name is Almedina. I wonder!!!

The Spanish Almudena is the diminutive of almedina (Arab orig. al-medinah), a term used in the Middle Ages to describe the part of a city within the walls or ramparts (versus the entire city, both inside and outside the walls). There are many towns and cities in Spain and Portugal called Almedina, probably because of this origin.

Almedida has been more or less explained. I can only add that it cannot be a last name because Custovic *is* a last name already. The whole phrase, though, seems incomplete. My guess would be that it must read "(Han) traslado (a) Custovic (del) almedina del Hospital, etc., which would mean "(They) transferred Custovic from the shelter of the Hospital, etc".
