Discussion

SafeTex Jun 22, 2021:
@ Francois Yep, but we don't have that particular expression. What we know is:

CONTACTS COMMERCIAUX
Mehdi BOURAGHDA [email protected]
+33 (0)4 94 550 700 ⋆ +33 (0)6 33 23 58 86

COMMERCIAUX !!!
Francois Boye Jun 22, 2021:
l'expression 'c'est de la COM' veut dire 'c'est de la communication ou de la
publicité'
SafeTex Jun 22, 2021:
@ François and all
Firstly, Ana may be right to think it is actually an English acronym but you disagree saying it is a FRENCH acronym

You go on to say in your own answer

COM = (responsable de la) communication

IS THAT HOW AN ACRONYM WORKS ?!?!?!

And anyway, The French for this job is normally "Directeur de la Communication"-with the well-known French acronym "DirCom"

So your disagree and own answer make no sense at all but that's par for the course unfortunately. I don't feel that you are bilingual but I'm not even sure what your native language is any more?

Cyril Tollari Jun 21, 2021:
Thanks Phil, "commercial" is probably right then
philgoddard Jun 21, 2021:
Have you Googled him? Is his last name Bouraghda? If so, it looks like he may be the sales manager: http://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.casinosbarriere.com/...
Cyril Tollari Jun 21, 2021:
https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/COM#Abréviation
It's shorter for French "commercial", some sort of sales representative.

neutral SafeTex : Hello Ana. As Cyril said, the question is French to English but I still think you may be right that the acronym is actually English (international job adverts often do this)

That is precisely what I thought. I searched "le CEO de Chanel", "le CEO de Louis Vuitton" and got some "hits". :)
