the EU will share a border with the Ukraine

the EU and the Ukraine will share a common border.
If it's a national border, the "Aussen" is more or less superfluous and would make the sentence over heavy in English
Peer comment(s):

neutral Deborah Shannon : not really superfluous I don't think, the EU still has internal national borders, but also outer limits so to speak, and that is the type of border meant here

don't agree - the border here is BETWEEN the EU and Ukraine so it cannot be confused with internal borders
agree Marnen Laibow-Koser : Yeah, I'd say we don't need the "external" in English. This looks right.

disagree Marnen Laibow-Koser : Mostly good, but "external" is not necessary in English. Including it just sounds redundant and bureaucratic, IMHO.

but just tell me how do you express the difference between Innengrenze and Außengrenze in English?
