Only thing I've come up with, and may be a red herring is "End cap" on the diagram named "typical construction" on page 4 of this http://www.roofline.co.uk/whitesales/Whitesales_2_Barrel.pdf... Cd cap simply be sth which sits on top of sth else?

"caps" en este caso se refiere a las tapas o molduras exteriores de los marcos de las ventanas. Estas tapas o molduras se instalan sobrepuestas sobre los elementos verticales u horizontales del entramado y pueden tener diseños, motivos o colores que coordinen con el estilo arquitectónico exterior que se desea desarrollar. De ahí que en el texto se pide que se envíen muestras de varios elementos para su aprobación, entre ellos, los "feature caps".

elementos distintivos

I think in this case, *cap* could go for *capital* or *key* items in customer requisition. *feature* is a distinctive part of something, what makes it different from others, and summing up, I suggest "elementos distintivos" But this is plain guessing! Good luck
