Got behind on my posts here while doing a string of documents through June for an annual organizational meeting. Now I"m on a long job, Spanish to English, on a program for testing the elimination of schistosomiasis. This is familiar territory for me because I have had past assignments on schistosomiasis: an entire book and another large project for a journal issue dedicated to the subject.

I now have two more articles on primary health care. These are longer than the previous ones and the source language is Portuguese. This series is for a publication marking the 50th anniversary of the Alma-Ata conference that first called on countries around the world to start introducing primary health care into their service delivery structure.

Too much work to stop and talk about it. I just finished my 24th document for an upcoming international meeting on public health. The length ranged from 8 to 33 pages and the work involved both translation and editing of original English by non-English-speaking authors. The subject areas ranged the full gamut of international public health.

Delivered the big job on health in the Americas this morning and an hour later was given two more jobs, this time on health and ethnicity. The bigger one is 27,000 words. All Spanish to English. I wish I'd get some work from Portuguese, but it rarely happens.
