Born in 1959 in Sverdlovsk, Russia. Native language is Russian.
Mechanical engineer of road transport – graduated from Kiev Automobile and Highway Institute in 1981.
All my school years and almost all my life I spent in Ukraine, in Ukrainian environment and therefore consider Ukrainian my second native language.
I read in many foreign languages, but professional translations I do from/to: English, German and French.
Visited many foreign countries.
Worked in Germany, Slovakia, Hungary.
My occupations were forensic expert-researcher of road accidents, passenger transport researcher, freight forwarder, commercial representative in trade with foods, wines, wood, accumulators, furniture, construction materials.
All my life I program computers in different programming languages. Last years am mostly busy with data bases. Freelance translations I do since 1982, that is 27 years.
Along with technical, legal and scientific translations I did several belles-lettres translations – Lillian Too’s Feng Shui Calendar and other books for Kiev Sophia Publishers, Yoga for British-Indian yogi Shyam Mehta among them.
My software for translations is SDLX, Trados, Wordfast.
Among others: Whole Microsoft Office, Adobe and CorelDRAW graphical programs, different character recognition programs.
