In my early career I worked for a UK automotive component supplier, initially as a translator and then in the Export Sales and Shipping departments. During this period I translated a vast range of technical and commercial texts. My job also involved liaison with the shop floor and foundry so I am very familiar with the processes and equipment used in industry.

I have been freelancing since 1986 working mainly for agencies and direct clients in the EU. Most of my technical work is proofread/revised by my partner, a technical editor with more than 20 years' industrial experience in the paint and papermaking industries.

A large proportion of my current work is from Swedish to English although I also regularly take on French and German to English work.

Specialisations: commercial, engineering (automotive, mechanical, railway), health & safety, metallurgy, commercial contracts, insurance, quality assurance, paints and inks, printing, papermaking, railways, tender documents, specifications and standards. I also undertake terminology validation work for an automotive end client.
