With 20 years of experience working in Russia-related non-governmental organizations in the areas of environment, environmental policy, Russian Indigenous peoples, refugee resettlement, and fisheries management and policy, I am a fluent Russian speaker whose native language is English.
I have held increasingly responsible positions at various non-profits over that period, and my duties very often included interpreting and translating in all of these areas. I have worked professionally as a freelance translator since 2006. I have traveled extensively in Russia, especially Siberia and the Russian Far East and more recently in Mongolia and Kazakhstan. I am currently director of an NGO that works to protect nature and strengthen communities in Eurasia
I also have working knowledge of German and Serbo-Croatian. I have a Bachelor's degree from Bryn Mawr College, where I majored in Russian Language and minored in Linguistics.
