A dispensing capillary 13 with two openings 14 and 15 is integrated into the rotor unit 9. The sample loading zone 17 can be formed in various ways. An embodiment in the form of a funnel-shaped sample intake chamber 18 is convenient when it is formed in such a way that it may easily be filled with the required volume of sample fluid 19; for example, by means of the tip of a pipette 21.

Til opdatering og dekodning af de overlevende stier er der nævnt to overordnede metoder: register exchange og traceback. Ved sammenligning er det vurderet, at register exchange i alle tilfælde medfører et væsentligt større antal læsninger og skrivninger til hukommelsen for de overlevende stier. Det vælges derfor at benytte en form for traceback til opdatering og dekodning af de overlevende stier.
Afhængig af antallet af observationer K, kan der benyttes traceback efter opdateringen af alle metrikkerne, eller der kan foretages løbende traceback med et dekodningsvindue på observationer. For den givne applikation bliver K = 244 og = 5L = 25. Ved benyttelse af standard løbende traceback med dekodningsvindue bliver hukommelsesforbruget dermed kun ca. 1=10 af hukommelsesforbruget til efterfølgende traceback. Standard traceback med dekodningsvindue skal dog foretage 25 læsninger til dekodning pr. observation k, hvilket sammenholdt med tidsestimaterne udregnet for opdatering af metrikkerne diskvalificerer denne metode til den givne applikation.

Translation - English Updating and decoding surviving paths
Two fundamental methods are cited for updating and decoding surviving paths: register exchange and traceback. In comparison, it is estimated that register exchange always results in a significantly larger amount of reading and writing to the memory for the surviving paths. Therefore, a form of traceback was selected to be used for updating and decoding the surviving paths.
As a function of the number of observations K, traceback can be used after updating all the metrics, or continuous traceback can be performed with a decoding window of observations. For the indicated application, K = 244 and = 5L = 25. When standard continuous traceback with a decoding window is used, the memory used is only approximately 1/10 of the memory used for sequential traceback. Standard traceback with a decoding window will perform 25 reads for decoding per observation k, which, in conjunction with the estimated time calculated for updating the metrics, disqualifies this method for the indicated application.
Several alternative methods of continuous traceback with a decoding window have been described to reduce the number of reads per observation. What they have in common is that they reduce the number of reads at the expense of using more memory and greater latency in comparison to standard traceback with a decoding window. The complexity of these methods for the indicated application has been summarized in table 4.4.

I. Probleemstelling
Op 8 februari 1991 heeft U, tesamen met de heer AAAAAAAAA en de bvba ZZZZZZZZZ een overeenkomst afgesloten met de vennootschap naar Duits recht XXXXXXX.
De overeenkomst heeft betrekking op de overdracht van een octrooiaanvraag met betrekking tot een "BBBBBBBBBBBBBB" (EP 0 785 130 A1), bet daarbij horende prototype en accessoire informatie aan de prijs van 150.000 DEM. Het dient meteen opgemerkt teworden dat de overeenkomst niet verwijst naar bovengenoemde uitvinding, doch voor de partijen moet het voldoende duidelijk geweest dat dit het voorwerp van de overeenkomst was, aangezien de overeenkomst tussen partijen werd uitgevoerd door de betaling van de prijs van 150.000 DEM door XXXXXXX GmbH aan ZZZZZZZZZ en de overdracht van de octrooi-aanvraag werd ter kennis gebracht van bet Europees Octrooibureau (vergelijk EP 0785 130 Al met de actuele status van deze aanvraag in het Europees octrooiregister, zie bijlage 1).
De overdracht van deze intellectuele eigendom gaat evenwel gepaard met een niet-concurrentie- en een confidentialiteitsbeding. Bij inbreuk op deze bepalingen is een forfaitaire schadevergoeding overeengekomen van 300.000 DEM.
U heeft mijn advies gevraagd omtrent de geldigheid van dit niet-concurrentiebeding.
II. Toepasselijk recht
Vooraleer op de grond van de geldigheid van het beding in te gaan, stelt zich de vraag naar het toepasselijke recht. De partijen hebben in de overeenkomst geen uitdrukkelijke rechtskeuze gemaakt. Overeenkomstig artikel 4 van bet Verdrag dd. 19 juni 1980 inzake bet recht dat van toepassing is op verbintenissen uit overeenkomst ("Verdrag van Rome”) wordt, in dergelijk geval, de overeenkomst beheerst door het recht van bet land waarmee zij het nauwst verbonden is, in casu het recht van het land van de overdrager, m..a. w. het Belgisch recht.

I. Framing the Issue
On February 8, 1991, you, together with Mr. AAAAAAAAA and the limited liability company ZZZZZZZZZ, entered into an agreement with XXXXXXXXX, a corporation pursuant to German law.
The agreement concerns the transfer of a patent application with respect to a "BBBBBBBBBBBBBB" (EP 0 785 130 A1), the associated prototype and related information for the price of 150,000 German Marks. It should be noted therewith that the agreement does not make any reference to the above-mentioned invention; however, it must have been entirely clear to the parties that this was the object of the agreement, since the agreement between the parties was performed upon by the payment of the price of 150,000 German Marks from XXXXXXX GmbH to ZZZZZZZZZ, and the European Patent Office was informed of the transfer of the patent application (compare EP 0785 130 A1 with the current status of this application in the Register of European Patents; see Addendum 1).
The transfer of this intellectual property was also accompanied by a non-competition clause and a confidentiality clause. Fixed compensatory damages of 300,000 German Marks are agreed upon for breach of these terms.

II. Applicable law
Before addressing the basis of the clause’s validity, there is the question of which law is applicable. The parties did not make any explicit choice of legal venue in the agreement. Pursuant to Article 4 of the Treaty dated June 19, 1980, concerning the law that will apply in obligations based on contractual agreements (the “Treaty of Rome”), in cases like this the agreement is governed by the law of the country to which it is most closely related, in this case, the law of the country of the transferring party, i.e. Belgian law.

Translation - English 14 Supplementary Insurance
The following is applicable to legally independent companies abroad that are included in the insurance coverage (cf. Part 1, Clause 1.2): Insurance coverage based on this insurance contract remains in effect in so far as other insurers are not required to provide any insurance coverage for the insured event through local policies or the amount of cover is insufficient. If insurance coverage is in force through other policies, the insurer in this contract will pay the difference between the amounts of cover of basic coverage and the amounts of cover of this contract. If the amounts of cover of basic coverage that would also have been included in the insurance coverage of this supplementary insurance have been completely used or reduced, the coverage of this supplementary insurance begins earlier to compensate for this. The deductibles stipulated in this contract are only used in so far as they exceed those of basic coverage. The release of liability of the insurer of the local policy because of breach of duty (particularly, late payment of premium) or breach of obligation is not covered by the insurance coverage of this contract. In the event of the cancellation or reduction of the local policies – not for use and reduction of the amounts of cover of basic coverage due to insured events (see Section 3, Paragraph 2 above) – no insurance coverage shall remain in effect under this contract for the breaches arising therefrom.
