professional with solid translating, interpreting and multilingual secretarial
skills for the languages English, German and Brazilian Portuguese.  Extensive experience of working at various
management levels within various organisation types such as the corporate
(multinationals, other international companies) and the charity and public
sectors (London councils).

Fully fluent and confident in spoken and
written English, German and Brazilian Portuguese being of Irish/German
background and having been raised and educated in Brazil and Ireland. Lived and worked in Brazil for 5 years and Germany for 15 years. Based in the UK since 2000.

Overview

I started work as an interpreter for fairs and exhibitions in Brazil using Portuguese, English and German, having lived in Ireland and Germany for a year after concluding secondary school. I then went on to work as a translator/multilingual secretary for various multinationals in Brazil, e.g. companies such as Ciba-Geigy and MWM Motorenwerke Mannheim. 

I received an offer to work as representative for Embratur in Frankfurt, Germany during which time I also worked at the ITB (Internationale Touristik Boerse) in Berlin. Subsequently, I lived and worked as a translator and secretarial linguist for medical/pharmaceutical, market research and tourist industries in the private sector in Germany, including companies such as IMS International, Dun & Bradstreet Corp. and Start Amadeus.

I relocated to Ireland and finally the UK where I have been living and working since the year 2000. 

Since relocating I’ve worked predominantly for charities and the London councils in the public sector. My main areas of work as a translator and coordinator have been in the Children & Families Social Care sector comprising Adoption and Fostering as well as the area of monitoring and evaluation of the provision of  funding for small organisations providing children’s services in the community. My translation and occasional interpreting work focused on family and children legal and medical matters/documents within the above areas.

level and other agreements as well as legal reports, family assessments and
minutes of various meetings in the field of legal language both for the private
and public sectors

reports and assessments as well as medical documentations and general
correspondence in the form of letters, memos and notices for the private and
public sectors

·       * Translating of clinical trials
and pharmaceutical specifications for the private sector

·        *Translating of articles and
miscellaneous documents within the social sciences, philosophy, history and
education language fields

·       * Extensive editing and
proofreading experience in English, German and Portuguese in the fields of
business/commerce, legal, medical and pharmaceutical as part of translation and
secretarial tasks

transcribing documents into English, German and/or Portuguese and subsequent
translations of the same
