Source text - Italian Le macchine elettriche solitamente sono la sede di diversi tipi di perdite; tra queste perdite troviamo: perdite del circuito elettrico localizzate nell'avvolgimento dello statore, perdite del circuito magnetico, perdite meccaniche e perdite di ferro. Tutte queste perdite si trasformano in energia termica. Ciò si traduce in un aumento della temperatura all'interno della macchina. Lo studio del comportamento termico del motore di macchine elettriche è importante per fissare i vincoli operativi e scegliere il magnete e l'isolamento dell'avvolgimento dello statore. Infatti le temperature dei magneti non devono superare la temperatura massima di funzionamento data dal costruttore e quella del rame non deve superare la temperatura massima specificata dalla classe di isolamento del motore.
