I'm not your average translator.
Of course, I have strong writing and language skills, geek out over the latest lists of Top 10 Italian- and Spanish-language books, and translate source texts just for fun. But I'm truly a project manager, organizer extraordinaire (my two daughters have helped me perfect that skill), and connector of hearts.
My business cards say translator, but I'm really just a person who loves bringing words to people.
I’m also a big believer in the power of the human spirit. I believe that languages were meant to bring people together, not tear them apart. We have so much to learn from one other, if we only could understand the words we use to communicate those gems of knowledge.
And so my job is to bring you those gems.
“Don't fret my dear. If art is translation of the ephemeral into observable form, then always remember that it is the translation that is the craft. The craft is that which can always be improved. But the ephemeral is that which only you have been able to observe, and that which only you have chosen to translate, and so in a way, the ephemeral is you, and it is already beautiful.” ― Jomny Sun
Specialties include: Education, Psychology, Literature and Healthcare. I’m also very good at Mancala, dominoes, and I pour a mean glass of wine.
I have a particular interest in translating Italian-speaking women and minorities and would love to work as an in-house translator for a publishing company.
I’m right over at [email protected] if you ever want to talk translation. You can also find me at alloratranslations.com or out on a walk with my dog listening to podcasts.
