A wonderful career, a desire of learning guitar, or a wish to be a winner in college fest, a want to score best in class etc. All these desires need to be converted into goals, and then these goals will give you a list of actions.
Similarly, you need to break down your aim into different steps; these steps are your goals. So all you want in life can be achieved if you list it down and find action steps for it. Studies say that only 3% of people set goals, rest don’t even bother to set goals in life.
We all understand that we are the product of our past, whatever we are today, it is because of what we did in past. So that means whatever we do today is going to determine our future. We have such a tremendous power in our hands to make our own future.
We are the creators of our tomorrow. What we want to be tomorrow, is right in our hands, either we make our future or break our future. When you have a goal, you have action steps to achieve
that goal.

चाहे आप एक शानदार भविष्य बनाना चाहते हों या गिटार सीखने की इच्छा रखते हों, कॉलेज की प्रतियोगिताओं में विजेता बनने की इच्छा हो या फिर कक्षा में सर्वश्रेष्ठ स्थान पाने की ख़्वाहिश। इन सभी उद्देश्यों या इच्छाओं को पूरा करने के लिए ज़रूरत है इन्हें विभिन्न लक्ष्यों में परिवर्तित करने की। ये लक्ष्य ही आपको सही तरीके से आगे बढ्ने और इन की प्राप्ति के लिए ज़रूरी कार्य करने की क्षमता और सूझबूझ प्रदान करते हैं।
इसके लिए आपको एक बड़े उद्देश्य को विभिन्न छोटे छोटे चरणों में विभाजित करने की आवश्यकता है और ये छोटे चरण ही आपके लक्ष्य हैं। इस तरह से सूचीबद्ध रूप से बनाए गए इन लक्ष्यों पर ध्यान केन्द्रित करने और इनकी प्राप्ति के लिए उचित कदम उठाने से जीवन में जो भी चाहें वह सब प्राप्त किया जा सकता है। पूर्व में किए गए कई शोध बताते हैं केवल तीन प्रतिशत लोग ही जीवन में लक्ष्य निर्धारित करते हैं और बाकी सभी इस तरफ कोई ध्यान नहीं देते।
हम में से लगभग सभी लोग इस बात को मानते हैं कि हमारा वर्तमान हमारे अतीत से ही बनता है और वर्तमान में हम जो कुछ भी हैं, वह इस कारण हैं कि हमने अतीत में क्या किया था। इसी सिद्धान्त पर चलं तो इसका मतलब है कि हम जो कुछ भी आज करेंगे वह हमारे भविष्य को निर्धारित करेगा। हमारे अपने ही हाथ में यह ताकत है कि हम अपने भविष्य को जिस तरह चाहें उस तरह संवार सकते हैं।
एक तरह से देखा जाये तो हम खुद अपने आने वाले कल के निर्माता हैं। जो कुछ भी हम कल बनना चाहते हैं, वह हमारे अपने हाथ में है जिससे या तो हम अपना उज्ज्वल भविष्य बना सकते हैं या इसे व्यर्थ कर देते हैं। जब आप अपने लिए एक लक्ष्य निर्धारित करते हैं तो आपके पास उस को प्राप्त करने के लिए उचित सूझबूझ और आगे बढ्ने के लिए ज़रूरी चरण होते हैं जिन पर चल कर आप उस लक्ष्य को निश्चित रूप से प्राप्त कर सकते हैं।
