My stiletto heels are hurting my feet after a long day and I take them off and put them back in the cupboard by the door. I wiggle my toes, making them dance in the air. My feet are swollen and sore. The feel of the cool wooden floor beneath my soles is suddenly new and intriguing. The first few steps are painful. The pain surges from my squashed toes, through the foot and up to the knee. It grounds itself there and grows worse during the evening. When the morning comes, it has always faded away, completely forgotten, in a way I never thought possible. | Translation - English
दिन में लम्बे समय तक ऊँची एड़ी की हील्स वाली सैंडल पहने रहने के कारण मेरे पैरों में दर्द हो रहा था, तो मैंने उन्हें उतार दिया और दरवाज़े के साथ वाले अलमारी में रख दिया। मैं अपने पैरों की उंगलियों को हिलाती-डुलाती हूँ और हवा में नचाती हूँ। मेरे पैर सूज गए हैं और उनमें दर्द हो रहा है। मेरे पैरों के नीचे ठंडे लकड़ी के फर्श का एहसास अचानक ही कुछ नया सा और अजीब सा लगने लगा है। पहले कुछ कदम चलने में दर्द हुआ। दर्द मेरी दबी पिचकी पैरों की उंगलियों से शुरू होके पैरों से होते हुए घुटने तक पहुँच रहा था। दर्द वहीं पर बना रहता है शाम में और बढ़ जाता है। अगले दिन सबेरे दर्द हमेशा गायब हो जाता है, ऐसा लगता है जैसे कभी हुआ ही नहीं हो। |
